MacBook Pro Comparison Charts
Tristan Louis has an interesting comparison over at his blog comparing the just announced MacBook Pro with the former G4 line and comparable windows laptops. Now that Mac’s have the same brand chip as it’s windows counterpart doing a cost comparison gets that much more interesting. And, once again, OS X and design aside, we still pay a premium for the Mac. Surprise, surprise! Still, I think the premium is worth it. An Mac laptop over an Acer? No comparison really.
Comments
yeah, ouch… Mac fanatics will have to rely more on the points of better software/os as to make up in the hardware differences.
What the chart really points out is that a true pro level laptop requires more than what Apple provides. 2 USB ports, way too little! (and always has been)
It’s a good question that someone pointed out to me in a very recent Mac vs PC debate I participated in. Now that the hardware is equal, that premium is really just how much we’re paying for the OS.
But is it worth it? Hell yes!
It’s worth it, but only Mac users know it. It’s about time Apple spent some iPod cash advertising Tiger IMO.
